Whitsundays to Brisbane

 Sailed straight through to Sandy Straits from Sid Harbour Whitsunday Island. Simon caught this spanish mackrel around Bunderberg area, it fed us for days !

Airlie to Brisbane

Had a great time at Able Point Marina,heading south in a week or so with northerlies. Should be back in Brissy around end of Nov. It was nice to snorkel at Blue pearl bay in warm water before stingers arrive.

We had a great winter at Port Douglas Marina & will miss the many friends we made during our stay. The Port Douglas Marina is central to all conveniences & worth a stop over for supplies & fuel.Their friendly staff are very helpful & we recommend the Marina for those cruisers headed north. For Overseas cruisers a Croc sighting trip up the river on Lady Douglas is a must.

Day in Cairns

 Had a day in Cairns with my life long friend Nahi who is from Manus Island in the Admirality group. We hope to sail to Manus in the future and spend time with Nahi and family

Sailed to Hope Islands for a couple of days, had a great sail north. Hope Islands are near  Cooktown , this is as far north  we will go this season.

With a sw wind had a rolly night on Orpheus & headed for Hinchinbrook Channel

Magnetic Island was pretty and offered shelter from the sw.

Still at Mackay marina waiting for a weather window which looks like tomorrow. It was good to catch up with John & Nancy on Alana Rose as they are here to haul out tomorrow.

KEPPELS TO MACKAY

Left Great Keppel Sat 26th with intention of stopping at Percy's, as it was predicted to be 15-20 k but we had 5 to 7k all day and at times had to motor. Picture is of  Port Clinton at sunset as we motored past. Got to the Percy's about 3am with 30k sw winds which had just started, so decided to head for Mackay marina and bunker down till these winds pass.

BUNDY TO GREAT KEPPEL

Anchored just past sugar wharf and moorings in Burnett river Bundaberg. Left Bundy 10am Wed & arrived Keppel 9.20am next day

BRISBANE TO BUNDERBERG

Left Brisbane when work was completed on yacht, now in Bunderberg waiting for our next weather window to head for the Keppel Islands

During our 9 days of rain & storms and a tv that died, our friend Julie came aboard for coffee which broke the boredom. 

PORT STEPHENS TO GOLD COAST

Left Port Stephens with southerlies to push us north

Hawksbury River to Nelsons Bay,Port Stephens

Pittwater, Hawksbury River. Left Hawksbury Sat 14th at 2pm & headed for Port Stephens with eta of  6am Sun 15th. Arrived at Nelsons Bay, Port Stephens at 6am after an exhausting night of stormy weather that stretched from Broken Bay to Port Stephens from the NE that should have been a gentle E, SE 10 to 15's.

In Athol Bay where Taronga Zoo is, was the prime position for  New years Eve Fireworks.  Vendors going vessel to vessel, selling drinks ice creams etc was a novelty
